Boston Needs Us!

Our first day had our groups all over the city. You would be very proud of our Youth Community as we threaded our way to the assigned work sites.

One group was at Boston Rescue Mission; preparing meals and serving them we learned the needs of this community and ways to address hunger.

We visited The Children's Exchange, a great venue that offers good clean clothes and toys in exchange for the same. They also offer a place for fellowship to people living in community.

Lastly we went to Mather School, the oldest continually running elementary school in the US, 375 years old. The kids that attend represent 80 countries and 40 languages. It's a diverse community to say the least. We found out, though, that kids are kids no matter where they are from or their circumstances. At the school we worked as classroom helpers to prepare the school for summer break that starts next week.

In the evening, Carl McDonald from Boston Immersion returned to help us dig deeper into our day and explore the root causes of homelessness and hunger.

Tuesday we'll hit the streets again to offer our own Lombard brand of Agape, spreading God's love with a smile and eagerness to serve.
